Chief Executive Officer / Founder
As CEO of the company, I instill singular growth strategies and vision across all departments. Prior to cofounding RankAbove with Eli in 2007, my experience lied in selling B2B technologies to enterprise organizations. I was Founder and CEO at ITS, a search marketing firm which I sold in order to shift my energies to filling a need in the enterprise SEO space. In 2003 I moved from New York to Israel, and currently live in a suburb of Jerusalem with my wife and five children. I sit on several non-profit advisory boards including Young Entrepreneurs Israel and regularly guest speak at universities and tech conferences around the world.
Chief Technical Officer / Founder
As CTO I oversee and innovate RankAbove’s technology, continually pushing to bring new, original features to fruition. I write many SEO-related articles and speak at search and marketing related events. Before founding the company with Mayer Reich, I held the positions of Director of Marketing for Didit.com and VP Marketing at Sunny Group. Over the course of my career I’ve helped several A-list companies with their search marketing campaigns, including Match.com, Style.com, Concierge.com, NewYorker.com, American Express, AT&T Mobile, Cingular, John Kerry for President 2004, Glamour.com, and AD.com, amongst others.
VP Customer Success
While formally RankAbove’s VP Marketing from 2007 to 2012, over the years my position converged with client relations management, and with the arrival of Addam Berger in October 2012, I was able to officially assume the position of VP client success. My role entails leading our team of account strategists and guiding each client in achieving the results they signed up for. Prior to joining RankAbove, I held marketing and business development positions in a number of divisions at IDT Corporation (NYSE: IDT), where I forged partnerships with Fortune 100 companies. At IDT Capital, I consulted for a variety of start-up companies that required marketing strategies and early implementation of GTM principles, in industries ranging from hi-tech to retail outlet stores. At IDT Energy, I led the marketing effort to increase meters (which converted to sales) by over 200%. Prior to working for IDT I was Director of Marketing at Ericom Software, Ltd (TASE: ERCM), a leader in Terminal Emulation applications.
I joined RankAbove in June 2011 as R&D Team Leader and since then have helped spearhead the development of our platform and make it an exceptional SEO product. I have a strong background in search engine technologies: in my previous position as Software Team Leader at Pipl Search, I managed the Search Engine and Data Extraction teams. Prior to Pipl, I was a Software Engineer at IBM research labs in the Social Networks group and worked on projects that involved Social Networks, Search Technologies and Social Search. I hold a BSc in Computer Science from the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology), where I graduated Cum Laude.
Chief Financial Officer
I’m responsible for performing the organization’s financial planning and helping execute RankAbove’s growth strategies. To this end, I advise Mayer Reich on budgets, financial risks, and operations. Prior to joining RankAbove in April 2012, I managed the financial activities of companies including Animation Lab and Vringo, Inc. (NYSE:VRNG), for which I secured financing rounds from angel and institutional investors, and led a IPO on the AMEX exchange of the New York Stock Exchange in June, 2010. I was also the Controller for Siemens Computer Aided Diagnosis, a Jerusalem-based medical devices subsidiary of Siemens AG (NYSE:SI). Born in London, England, I now live in a suburb of Jerusalem, Israel with my wife and five children. I became a Certified Public Accountant in Israel following five years of service at KPMG (Jerusalem office).
Chief Marketing Officer
As CMO at RankAbove I’m building our awareness and distributing the organization’s message across channels, around the globe. Formerly Media Director and Senior Partner at Neo@Ogilvy (a division of Ogilvy & Mather), I have 25 years of experience in media and marketing. During my 12 years at Ogilvy I managed multi-media campaigns for IBM’s IT, Mid-Market and U.S. based demand generation programs. Other Fortune 500 accounts I had the opportunity to manage include DuPont, Yahoo, Novartis, and Allstate Auto Insurance. Immediately prior to joining RankAbove I was Global Segment Manager for Direct Mail at HP Indigo. At different times throughout my career I’ve lectured on media and marketing strategies and tactics at Yeshiva University’s Sy Syms business school.
As creative director of RankAbove I manage the production of online and offline collateral as well as the visual experience on our software GUI. My background is in website design and development; prior to joining RankAbove I ran an international design business, serving clients in mainly hi-tech and e-Commerce related niches. I also built specialized teams of usability experts, developers, branding experts, and copywriters for those websites and applications. Immediately prior to joining RankAbove I was Creative Director at Hunter & Bard agency, where I often presented at sessions about the importance of web design process and usability. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, I moved to Florida after high school (for a warmer climate) and worked for internet start-ups in Boca Raton. Following the dotcom collapse of 2000 I relocated to ‘Silicon Valley East’ – Tel Aviv.
Prior to joining RankAbove in 2011, I consulted for companies in niches ranging from online poker and hotels to large eCommerce sites and avionics. As a Senior SEO Analyst, my responsibilities are twofold: I work with Eli Feldblum and the development team to identify and implement new features for the RankAbove platform, and connect different sources of data to further improve the platform’s analytical abilities. I ensure that all developments of our decision making algorithm are kept in line with the ever-changing best SEO practices. My other hat entails conducting and publishing SEO-related research, which usually includes analyses of the large amounts of data available to us through the platform. I believe that proper experimentation and data analyses as well as publication of the results provide competitive advantages to both clients and SEO strategists.
Over the years I’ve spoken at, moderated, and helped organize some of the leading online marketing conferences, such as SMX, Distilled LinkLove, NOAH Conference, MIT Forum, and Affilicon. I currently reside in the UK where I am pursuing my PhD in Environmental Microbiology at the University of Warwick.
I work closely with Addam Berger and Daina Reed to ensure that the messages we convey are consistent and truthful, across all mediums. I ensure that we share all relevant content and news created at RankAbove, including research, white papers, and case studies, as well as the functionalities of the RankAbove platform. My previous experience includes establishing acquisition and retention marketing practices in young companies from start-up to growth stages, in niches ranging from cosmetics to online gaming and eCommerce. In 2011 I received an MBA from Tel Aviv University’s Recanati School of Business.
